Location:  Clear Lake, IA

Cost:  No charge

Course Details:  4 key growing environments for the Clear Lake area were identified:

              1) Corn/ Corn

              2) Poorly Drained

              3) High Yield

              4) Cool soils/ Wet Planting

After we identified the environments we discussed how the major soil classifications in the area affected these environments.  Major soil types being Canisteo, Okoboji/ Harps, and the Clarion/ Nicollet/ Webster complexes.

Different farming practices strengths and weaknesses were presented and product positioning strategies incorporated.  This section of the class lasted 2 hours.
